Prerequisites:
- National Lifeguard Certification (Need not be current - All options accepted)
- Lifesaving Instructors Certification (Need not be current)
- Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C & AED (Formerly known as Standard First Aid with CPR-C) (Must be from an WSIB approved First Aid provider)
- Minimum 18 years of Age

- First Aid Instructor Pack
- Canadian First Aid Manual
The National Lifeguard Instructor pack and First Aid Instructor Pack are the required reference material for this course. It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure that they have the required manuals before the start of their first session. You can obtain the manuals via the options below:
Note: Students need to purchase their manuals from the Lifesaving Society directly. Students will not be permitted into the course without the required manuals and will not be eligible for refunds. Students registering late into the course (7 days before) can purchase and pick up their books directly from the Lifesaving Society office located at 475 Cochrane Dr from Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm.
Starting June 22, 2026, only candidates who are 18 years of age or older and successfully complete the course will be certified to deliver the new Basic and Intermediate First Aid courses and related leadership courses. This change is part of the Lifesaving Society’s First Aid program update.
