Course Description
The Swim, Lifesaving & Emergency First Aid Instructor course is ideal for candidates who wish to teach lifesaving courses or swimming lesssons. The Swim Instructor course will certify candidates to teach all levels of swim by learning to evaluate swimming strokes, correction techniques and development drills where as the Lifesaving & Emergency First Aid Instructor will certify candidates to teach Bronze level (Star, Medallion & Cross) courses and Emergency First Aid.

Course Description
The Swim Instructors course is the certification required by most major employers such as the City of Toronto, YMCA. In this course, candidates learn to break down swimming skills into progressions, make short & long term plans as well safe and effective formations to deliver a safe and engaging lesson. Candidates are not required to have their National Lifeguard certification prior to this course.

Course Description
The Lifesaving Society's "First Aid Instructor" (FAI) is a WSIB recognized certification that enables candidates to teach all levels of First Aid and CPR that is offered by the Lifesaving Society. Upon successful completion, candidates must take an Examiners course and successfuly complete an apprenticeship in order to independently teach and certify others in any level of first aid.

The National Lifeguard Instructor (NLI) course is an advanced instructor certification. Successful candidates will be qualified to teach the Lifesaving Society's National Lifeguard course. Candidates must note that only National Lifeguard examiners are able to certify others as lifeguards. In order to become a National Lifeguard Examiner, candidates must take the Examiner course and apprentice with a qualified Examiner Mentor.

Course Description

Course Description
The Trainer course is the first step in the three-step process to be appointed as a Trainer for the Society. The course provides candidates with an understanding of the expectations and requirements to teach instructors, and prepares participants to successfully apprentice as a Trainer on the Instructor course(s) of their choice. It shapes positive attitudes and values about the Society’s Instructor Training program, planning, learning/teaching, and evaluation content and allows participants to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, teaching, and evaluation techniques.
