Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross Combo

Length: 2 days

Pre-requisites: 13 Years of age or must hold Bronze Star

Valid for: 2 years

Course Description:

This combo course is ideal for 13 year old or older candidates with a background in swimming. Upon completion of this package, candidates will be able to take the National Lifeguard course.

Candidates are also required to obtain their Standard First Aid certification prior to registering for the National Lifeguard Course.

Bronze Medallion With Emergency First Aid & CPR-B

Cost: $135

Length: 2 days

Pre-requisites: 13 Years of age or must hold Bronze Star

Valid for: 2 years

Course Description:

This package is designed to prepare the candidates to rescue victims in shallow unsupervised waters and manage a limited number of medical emergencies such as heart attack and asthma.

Course Content:

- 6 x 25m Head up swim
- 500m Endurance swim in 15 minutes
- Defenses and releases
- Ladder approach
- Shallow water spinal injury management techniques
- Precautionary safety techniques to keep themselves safe in the case of emergency situations

This course mainly focuses on deep water rescues.

Bronze Cross

Pre-requisites: Bronze Medallion, Emergency First Aid & CPR-B

Valid for: 2 years

Course Description:

This package is designed to prepare the candidates to rescue victims in deep water.

Course Content:

- 12 x 25m Head up swim
- 600m Endurance swim in 18 minutes
- Self-rescue techniques
- Deep water spinal injury management techniques
- Submerged victim recovery
- Precautionary safety techniques to keep themselves safe in the case of emergency situations.

This course mainly focuses on deep water rescues.

Bronze Star

Cost: $100

Length: 2 days

Pre-requisites: None - Good swimming skills recommended

Valid for: 2 years

Course Description:

This course is designed for candidates that are under 13 years old. Upon completion of this course, candidates will be eligible to take Bronze Medallion.

Course Content:

- Submerged Victim Recovery
- Object support
- 100m Fitness medley
- 400m in 12 minutes endurance swim
- Assessing pulse and respiration rate
- Adult CPR
- Land spinal
- Victim recognition
- Hand signal communication
- Walk and spot
- In water search
- Rescue with a partner

You are eligible to skip this course if you are above 13 years old

Re-certify Bronze

Cost: $50

Length:  1 day

Pre-requisites: Must hold the recertifying certification.

Valid for: 2 years

Course Description:

Only for candidates who have previously received their Bronze Medallion or Cross.
